Ya es hora.
El estudio del Pentágono publicado ayer confirma lo que hemos sabido por mucho tiempo: Los militares están dispuestos a derogar "Don't Ask, Don't Tell".
El informe encontró que el 70 por ciento de las tropas no creen que el cambio tendría un impacto negativo en la moral, y la disposición de tropas no se vería afectada.
Esta importante noticia significa que estamos más cerca que nunca para poner fin a esta política discriminatoria que castiga a los hombres y mujeres patriotas que quieren nada más que servir a nuestro país - y los daños de nuestra propia seguridad mediante la prevención de los estadounidenses calificados y muy necesaria de servir.
La última vez, éramos sólo dos votos de pasar timido derogación en el Senado. Y ahora los legisladores que han estado arrastrando sus pies no tienen excusas izquierda.
Nosotros tampoco. A este respecto, nuestras voces no pueden obtener más poderosa de lo que son hoy en día - después de los militares ha pesado en cuando los medios de comunicación es prestando mucha atención, justo antes de que el Senado inicia el debate.

Pero la oposición republicana en el Senado - liderado por el senador John McCain - ya está cavando en sus talones.
La gente como el senador McCain dijo que respetaría el liderazgo militar - y luego se negó a moverse cuando la gente como el presidente del Estado Mayor Conjunto almirante Mike Mullen, el secretario de Defensa, Robert Gates, y el ex secretario de Estado Colin Powell, todos se acercaron a apoyar la derogación.

We know that some of these senators are going to do everything they can to shift their standards once again.
